THE BANANA SYMBOLIZES OUR VISION

OF A BENEVOLENT PARTICIPATORY ECONOMY and INCLUSIVE BEAUTY

A symbol of beauty in several cultures, the banana perfectly embodies our vision of cosmopolitan beauty, indifferent to origins.

A symbol of generosity, abundance and freedom, the banana reflects our commitment to a caring and inclusive economy:

The banana tree, the central plant of the Creole garden, is a generous, benevolent and altruistic herb: its large leaves provide shade to neighboring species and encourage their growth. In addition, all parts of the banana have a function and therapeutic utility. For nearly 300 years, the banana has brought autonomy, emancipation, mutual aid and the revaluation of the French West Indian territory to local populations.

In 1736, by royal decree, bananas were authorized for cultivation by slaves in Martinique. Unlike the culture of sugar cane associated with slavery, that of the banana has a liberating and emancipatory image.

Even today, the banana is the symbol of participatory capitalism: at KADALYS, all our planters are shareholders. In addition, banana plantations revalorize territories forgotten or neglected by globalization and help support the local economy and fair trade for responsible French production.

The circular economy is at the center of our concerns. We give a second life to “forgotten bananas” by transforming agro-waste into cosmetic active ingredients.

Fruit of inclusive beauty

For millennia, the Kadalï banana in Sanskrit has accompanied the lives of men and nourished their imagination  : the incarnation of Lakshmi, goddess of beauty  for some,  symbol of lost paradise  for others.

From Asia to the Pacific Islands, from Africa to the Americas, the history of the banana is that of a  traveling fruit, a symbol of crossbreeding.  Following the route of the most consumed fruit in the world and its cosmopolitan origins through the centuries is a bit like following that of Men.

Like the banana, KADALYS beauty is diverse, exploring, curious about others:  an inclusive beauty indifferent to origins, far from stereotypes.

We celebrate all beauties in their singularity, regardless of origins and skin colors. We welcome differences and encourage all women to love and accept themselves as they are.

Like the banana tree, we aspire to an ecological balance, by promoting natural and sustainable beauty that respects both our skin and our planet. We therefore encourage each individual to take care of themselves in harmony with nature, for beauty that is both personal and ecologically responsible.

Fruit of ecological balance Emblem of harmony between man and nature, the banana embodies our commitment to a healthy and sustainable environment. The banana tree, with its capacity for rapid growth and environmental resilience, is a marvel of the ecosystem, contributing to the biodiversity of the lands on which it thrives. At KADALYS, we take advantage of this natural wealth, using every part of the banana, from the fruit to the leaf, to create our cosmetic products. In this way, we support a circular economy, transforming what could be considered waste into premium beauty products. This minimizes our ecological footprint while supporting the local economy.
